The Brownshirts: Partie Deux; These aare the Muscle We’ve Been Waiting For

So I get up to check in and I see this latest bad news. And as soon as I saw the details I knew I wanted to expand a bit on Somnabulist’s post. What I wanted to say is that- as one of the local grumpy history nerds, what Bernie’s thugs did to Trump is EXACTLY THE KIND OF THING that the Brownshirts were used for. In a nutshell, this was the goal of the Brownshirts- or the Sturmabteilung/Storm Detachment as they were properly known (and “Stormtroopers” as they are popularly known)- during the time when they were most important.

In a nutshell, the average Brownshirt formation had three duties.

1: To intimidate and violently harass anybody the Party wanted intimidated or violently harassed.

2: To attack and forcibly break up any political rallies or meetings that the NSDAP did not want to happen.

3: To provide security/muscle protecting Nazi leadership from having 1 or 2 done to them by one of the numerous other paramilitaries in interwar Germany.

Keep in mind. The SA was the main body of the party’s active members. So THIS was the main thrust of the Nazi Party’s activities during its’ rise to power. Not getting out the vote.  Not buying guns. Not doing military drills. Not fund raising. THIS. What does that say?

I think it is pretty safe to say that this is an example of 2 par excellence. It is one thing to deal with hecklers or protesters, who might occasionally get nasty. They’re there, they come in all kinds of stripes, and they have always been there. But this is something different. This was a coordinated attack by a fairly broad number of groups against a rally by someone they did not like. They did not come to heckle, they did not come to protest, they did not come to try and shout the groups down, they did not come to try and embarrass their opponents, they came to completely deny them the right to have their own damn meeting.

I’d call it paramilitary if any of the groups involved seemed even vaguely military, but this seems to be plain old ununiformed thuggishness. But it’s still thuggishness. Just of a kind that I fear is different from what we’ve seen so far.
And that worries me.

But don’t believe me. See if anything Goebbels said seems applicable, or reminds you of the stuff that Weasel put up. I’ll quote just one part of it that stood out to me.

This was an integral part of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party’s strategy, like it had been for Mussolini and other thugs before. It was part of the strategy he followed ever since he was released from prison after the Munich fiasco. On one hand the National Socialist German Workers’ Party would forswear attempts to launch a violent coup that would see them march on the Reichstag and other institutions of power and forcibuly remove the people in it and put Nazis in them in favor of actually trying to win power through the ballot box. But the other half of the equation was this. To obtain a monopoly of violence and force on the streets, to forcibly dominate the streets. Because the streets are the level where public life is lived. To dominate THEM was to dominate both public life and ultimately private life. So that when the people did go to the polls, they would be those that ha d already lived under Hitler’s rule for months, or years. People who had been exposed to the Party’s propaganda, to its’ ideals, and to its’ leaders and what they believed in on one hand, while being denied access to those of others. There’s also the fact that this meant that those were the Party knew it could “reach”.

You can imagine what effect this had. So can you imagine what would happen if the Bernieites try to do it again?

I don’t even particularly Like or Trust Trump* . But I like political terrorists even less, and unless these bastards are indicted or given a sound thrashing by anyone else they try to attack, they will likely try it again.

But if there is one advantage this does it gives Trump and everyone in that crowd the right to wear the Martyr’s Crown, and they SHOULD. Frequently, and PUBLICLY. Especially whenever Bernie tries to pad out his claims to be a “Democratic Socialist”, especially if he does not renounce these bastards and assist in apprehending them. And you can help. This is the first post of mine I feel obliged to say: SPREAD IT AROUND. Spread It Around. Because this kind of behavior should concern everyone who loves freedom. I honestly don’t care about the allegiance of people doing this, because ANYONE behaving like this has politics and ideology that is distinctly totalitarian. Distinctly antithetical to American ideals. And I’d encourage people to haul these people over the coals and to the police station even if they were militant Cruz supporters. Because if this kind of conduct becomes kosher, freedom in America will go to the operating table and risk dying.

I honestly do not know what to say, so I guess I’ll end by making a few notes. That..

1: Yes, this attack seems like a bunch of wild animals that got together and stampeded. Because it is. But if that makes you think that this might not be a problem or that it isn’t as much of one, look back at the Tharsus Hall link and realize that it describes the small nucleus of a group that would number over three million men and had its’ own motorized and-yes- medical corps. This Can Happen if people like this are not stopped, and when you have a horde of three million people- thousands in any given city or town against maybe a couple dozen or hundred cops, tops?- THEY WILL BECOME THE LAW.

2: To ANYBODY who even REMOTELY thinks that this isn’t a problem because they personally do not like Trump, so it’s not your problem.. OF COURSE it is your problem. It’s a problem for anyone who lives here and does not support this kind of stuff. It would be a problem if this was being done to Bernie supporters. For the sake of the Christ, Take that article I linked for example. The attack Goebbels spoke of was on the Communist Party of Germany who were Stalinists with their own groups of street fighting terrorists. But so what? It was still a crime, one committed not because the Nazis objected to the KPD’s attempts to institute a totalitarian regime by violence, but because they objected to *what kind* of totalitarian regime it would be. It was a crime these very people would go on to commit against countless others. Old Imperialist Stalheim, Weimar Constitutionalists and Republicans, members of the press, Austrian independentists, Poles, and innocent Jews (as Kristallnacht showed).

So whether or not you “approve” of these people being beaten up is already missing the plot. A group with this kind of power can threaten to use it on anyone it damn well pleases, and nobody’s precious opinion can outweigh that. First They Came sums it up well enough…

and finally, to my readers and any of the participants in this riot that might be reading this to see how the barbaric right wingers live and who has read this far down....

3: Between 1922 and 1934 the SA was by far the most powerful part of the Nazi party and largely catapulted them into power. But after that, it was utterly gutted in the Night of the Long Knives where ideological troubles led Hitler, the SS, and the old Imperial military establishment to slaughter the more troublesome members of it when they judged that they were getting too independent and forceful. So if these petty university brownshirts feel on top of the world today and believe that they are oh so important, they might want to think twice about how expendable they are to those on the top. Because in the end, a totalitarian beast devours its’ own children. Without exception.

*in fact, the previous bit of brutality I was reading about was the fact that someone in the Trump campaign manhandled a friendly reporter and that wound up with them getting bruised and the Trump campaign flatly denying everything and anything. So ironically the morons might have helped cover up some dirty laundry for him.... Great Job Chuckleheads, Ge-reaaaat Strategy there…

Breaking News, Scalia found Dead at his Ranch

I just heard reports of this from one of my friends. Apparently news is starting to get out that Justice Scalia was found dead at his ranch. I’ll try and get more news as it pops up, but I only wish it weren’t true....

If it is, Scalia was a rock ribbed constitutionalist and one of the greatest legal minds our continent has ever seen. And one that Obama will be able to appoint a replacement for.....

Sorry to co-opt Turtler’s post, but here’s a bit of an update ...

Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.

Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa.

Scalia arrived at the 30,000-acre ranch on Friday and attended a private party with about 40 people that night, according to a federal official.

He left the party and retired to bed earlier than others, according to Donna Sellers, a spokeswoman with the U.S. Marshals Service.

When he failed to appear at breakfast, a person involved with the ranch went to his room, where he discovered his body. A priest was called to administer last rites.

A federal official, who asked not to be named, said there was no evidence of foul play and it appeared that Scalia died of natural causes.

Chief U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia, of the Western Judicial District of Texas, was notified about the death from the U.S. Marshals Service. 

U.S. District Judge Fred Biery said he was among those notified about Scalia’s death.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement Saturday afternoon, calling Scalia a man of God, a patriot and an “unwavering defender of the written Constitution.”

“He was the solid rock who turned away so many attempts to depart from and distort the Constitution,” Abbott said. “We mourn his passing, and we pray that his successor on the Supreme Court will take his place as a champion for the written Constitution and the Rule of Law. Cecilia and I extend our deepest condolences to his family, and we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”

This is a terrible, horrible moment for America. My sympathies to his wife and family, of course, right now I fear for my nation. This is the man who ought to have been Chief Justice. This was one of the few people inside the Beltway who actually understood what the Constitution was all about. IMO, he rarely got one wrong; any SCOTUS decision that came down with “Scalia, dissenting” you pretty much assumed was wrongly decided. Like Kelo v. New London for example.



Can they find an honest person, a loyalist to the Constitution, to replace him with? Because just any “constitutional scholar” would give us another burrowing bilge rat like Obama, who obviously studied the system only to figure out how to subvert it. And we are that close ... one more false Constructionist justice on the bench, one more uninformed old hippie, one more racist lesbian trying to sell “social justice” as a special kind of wisdom ... and we are destroyed as a nation. 

So here comes the next battle. Unfortunately I fear it’s only going to be a Communists vs. Pussies battle. No real Americans are going to attend. Or be appointed. I fear for the future.

hysteria imported from the U.S.  really?  i’ve been hearing that for years.

Everything running late today.

I just found this and thought, why not?

It might anger a few, and I can’t buy into it.  But the fellow writing the column seems to think it’s us, that is Americans, who are to blame for the bizarre subject of my previous post on education and gender.

There are a lot of things over this side of the water, that ppl here say originate in the USA, and maybe some do.
But nobody I am aware of is holding a loaded gun to the head of any Brit, and forcing them to adopt a loony tune program.

Here’s an example from the column.  I’d encourage all to read it all, cos it isn’t all bad.

Why, then, has the concept of gender fluidity come to loom so large that the Government wants to grill teenagers about it?

Essentially, this is a hysteria imported from the U.S. The Puritan strain in U.S. history — English Puritans, in despair at corruption in the Church of England, migrated there in the 17th century — has left the country with a propensity for doctrinaire witch-hunts.

U.S. activists fought — and won — admirable battles for the rights of women, blacks and gay people.In the process, however, a huge industry grew up around minority rights. American universities are grossly overstaffed with ‘diversity’ officers who encourage professors and students to denounce anyone who uses ‘insensitive language’ to describe an oppressed group.

The same is increasingly true of British campuses, which love to copy the latest American politically correct fad.

I’d always thought cos that’s what I was taught, that the Puritans left England cos they weren’t allowed to persecute here , and so left to go where they could do the persecuting.
Well anyway ...

celebs to join 24 hour hunger strike, like anyone cares. but they don’t understand that.

Celeb loony tunes and other lunacy.

Cause the whole world revolves around them.

This’ll sure bring Obama and American culture to it’s knees.

I have a hard time understanding just what it is that makes some folks so exhibitionally schtupid.  Do they really honestly think they’re having an impact on the decisions of the govt.? Or even on Aamer?  I guess they must.
And as is their habit, the Daily Mail is again patting itself on the back for its campaign to force the release of, “The last British prisoner” held at Guantanamo by the ugly American. The media has referred to him as a Brit after the DM started the ball rolling.

Yeah I know ... I recently did this. Only days ago in fact.
This is an update to that story.  Celebs I never heard of except for maybe one, have joined the Mail’s holy crusade to free the last Mohican.  Ah, I mean last British prisoner.  Who is now on another hunger strike. Or maybe the same one he’s always been on.
So here, take a look.  Look at it this way.  It can often times be a gas to look at the self styled elite making jerks of themselves.

I grabbed this from Sky News, but they got it from the Mail who had it sooner. Anyway, the Daily Fail loads too damn slow and it’s becoming more frustrating to use their site.

Celebs Join ‘Hunger Strike’ For Shaker Aamer

Supporters of Shaker Aamer, the last British prisoner in Guantanamo Bay, join a campaign to keep up the pressure for his release.

Celebrities and politicians are set to take part in a “hunger strike” in solidarity with Guantanamo prisoner Shaker Aamer.

Actors Mark Rylance and Maxine Peake, as well as MPs David Davis and Andy Slaughter, and human rights lawyer Clive Stafford Smith have joined the Fast For Shaker campaign.

Mr Aamer, who was born in Saudi Arabia but has UK residency and whose wife and four children live in London, has been held in the prison for almost 14 years without trial.

Last month, US authorities announced he will be freed, but he could not be released immediately because Congress has to be given 30 days’ notice of his release.

Reports have emerged that the 46-year-old is on hunger strike protesting against alleged abuse at the military prison in Cuba.

Now supporters have launched Fast For Shaker to show solidarity with Mr Aamer by not eating for 24 hours.

Mr Aamer’s family, who are planning to join the campaign, said: “Thank you all so much for taking part in this fasting. We are touched.

“Our family we will be joining in the fasts with all of you. Let’s all bring Shaker home.”

Organisers said the initiative will start on Thursday and continue until Mr Aamer is released, with participants selecting a day to fast on.

Andy Worthington, co-director of the We Stand With Shaker campaign, said: “After the great news that Shaker Aamer is to be released from Guantanamo, we were all disturbed to discover that he is on a hunger strike, and wanted to show solidarity with him, and to encourage him to give up his hunger strike.

ex gitmo prisoner skips town a million richer, joins isis in syria

At the current rate of exchange, one million British pounds (£) is worth ($) 1,532,649,999.99 USD. 1,534,043.82 USD

HUGE thanks to Grayjohn who spotted my huge error.  Not a billion obviously but got by a sleeping me.

That’s the award to a former Guantanamo prisoner paid by the Brit taxpayer and there will be more. Oh boy there will for sure.
Why?  Because it’s charged that Brit agents turned them over to our CIA for torture.  Not only that, the Brits in some cases provided the nasty torture loving Americans the questions to ask their prisoners.  Brits can’t do torture ya see.  Never.  Against the law.

Hey gang.  Brits have recently jailed a Brit soldier for the killing of a wounded Taliban fighter.  I won’t go into it here, you can research the recent story and I hope you do.  It’s an interesting one.

So the Brits were witness to the questioning and the torture so he claims, and the evil Americans arrested the guy and took him to Guantanamo.
After two years, he was released.

And has since joined ISIS.

I guess the question could be, as the left will no doubt claim.  Did he turn that way due to wrong and mistaken arrest and treatment?
Or was he a jihadist from the get go?

Well anyway .... he got his cash if I understand this article correctly, and skipped a million bucks richer.

A terror suspect given £1million compensation by Britain after he was freed from Guantanamo Bay has fled to join Islamic State.

Muslim convert Jamal al-Harith was awarded the payout after being released from the US military jail in 2004.

The suspected Taliban sympathiser was flown to the notorious camp in Cuba and locked up after being captured in Afghanistan by US troops in March 2002.

But after intense campaigning by Tony Blair’s government, British citizen al-Harith – who had pleaded his innocence – was let out two years later.

He launched a compensation claim on the grounds British agents knew or were complicit in his mistreatment and was handed up to £1million of taxpayers’ money to stay silent.

But last night it emerged that, despite security services being fully aware of his previous detention, al-Harith was able to escape the UK 18 months ago to fight with IS in Syria. His journey has been revealed following an escape from IS-controlled Syria last month by British mother Shukee Begum and her five children.

Channel 4 News disclosed that Miss Begum, 33, is married to al-Harith, and had flown to the war-torn country to try to persuade the fanatic to return to the UK.

However, her attempts failed, and she endured a ten-month ordeal being passed between hostages and rebel groups as she tried to escape.

She reached safety last month when she was rescued by Al Qaeda-linked group Al Nusra.

Last night questions were raised as to how al-Harith was able to leave the UK to join IS and how his wife was able to follow him, placing doubt on the Government’s ability to effectively monitor terror suspects. It is not known if any limits were placed on al-Harith’s travel. Fresh questions were also raised about the preparations put in place by the security services ahead of the return of Shaker Aamer, the last British resident in Guantanamo.

The father-of-four, 48, is set to be freed by the end of the month but his release has been delayed for at least eight years amid allegations the US is concerned about Britain’s ability to monitor terror suspects.

He claimed the Taliban locked him up and accused him of being a British spy. A few months later he was found in a Taliban jail by US special forces and transferred to Guantanamo Bay.

US authorities considered that he was ‘probably involved in a former terrorist attack against the US’. He was assessed as being an Al Qaeda fighter and considered a ‘high threat to the US’.

When al-Harith was released in 2004, he was repatriated to England and released without charge. That year it was reported he and three other detainees launched a legal action against the US government, each demanding $10million – £5.4million at the time. Mr Aamer, whose family lives in south London, will be released after a campaign by the Mail, which argued that although he had questions to answer about his presence in Afghanistan, it was an affront to justice to detain him without charge or trial.

BOO HOO, YOU’VE GOT ME CRYING FOR YOU

I find this story interesting, not exactly sure why.

Oh, an after thought.
Drew ... this is the guy you mentioned in an email, and I wrote to you about last night.

As I mentioned to Drew, I do not understand why we held him for 13 years if he wasn’t finally charged with something.

I’m always to be found defending or cutting tons of slack to our intel agencies, even tho of course they can make deadly mistakes.
But guys, who else aside from the help of our regular police depts. stands between us and the bad guys?
And on an international level especially when dealing with the threat of terror groups, shouldn’t we assume our ppl at the FBI and CIA and NSA have information on various groups and individuals that we just can’t even imagine?  While we all want an open society, and I am not always sure what that is, as it seems to change a lot.  But there are just things those agencies have access to that for reasons of state safety, if we were allowed to know, then the scum that want to destroy us and our way of life will know as well.
I think it comes to the fact that a general won’t send word of his plans to his foe. 

OK so, this guy has been held for a long time, and some papers here and most especially the Daily Mail, have been on a holy crusade to free.
They keep harping and banging on about America’s poor image and how our system is violating intl. laws, blah,blah and blah.
He has been called the last Brit to be held by the USA at Guantanamo. Well friends, he is no more a Brit than I am.  He was a resident of this country just as I am.  But the Mail likes to make things local and what better way than to claim he’s a Brit.

Last week he issued a statement, thru his lawyers of course, that if he should die before release, it means the Americans have murdered him. And he wants the world to know that.

To listen to this guy, or read his statements, you’d think his life was lived in a cage with no access to other humans. Ok, the cage perhaps. The thing is, based on what’s been coming out of Guantanamo, he sure as heck has someone speaking for him or passing on his statements.

Another thing ... the Mail is taking lots of credit for his coming release.  Through their efforts they would have the gullable believe, they shamed the USA
or Obama in particular, into freeing this guy, who says he is being held because the Americans are afraid of the secrets he knows and afraid that word will get out how badly treated prisoners are. All of them.

He is also saying that the Americans tortured him in the presence of British agents.  So all along he claims, the govt. here knew about the torture and
maltreatment of prisoners by the Americans.  If British agents like say MI5 or 6 knew, the government had to know.

Look for a future lawsuit against the UK, once he is finally let go.  I can believe torture was used at some point. But why do we hold on to a prisoner, give dates of release and then backtrack.
If he really is innocent as he claims, wow. 13 years is a long time to be held a prisoner.  But then, wouldn’t he say he was innocent anyway?

The last ‘Briton’ in Guantanamo Bay has given the first detailed account of how he was tortured in the presence of British agents.

Shaker Aamer says his head was repeatedly slammed against a wall while a British officer was in the room.

On another occasion, a young British officer in a red beret visited him in a ‘cage’. Both alleged incidents took place on US bases in Afghanistan shortly after his 2001 capture.

Mr Aamer’s account is one of the most serious allegations levelled at the security services for ‘complicity’ in the CIA’s notorious torture programme.

Lawyers for Mr Aamer – who has been held at Guantanamo Bay for 13 years without charge or trial – say the 48-year-old British resident is being denied freedom to keep a lid on his claims.

But he was allowed to tell his story to a doctor who examined him last year and she has quoted him extensively in her medical report.

Californian independent psychiatrist Dr Emily Keram describes how Mr Aamer was beaten, shackled in painful ‘stress’ positions, deprived of sleep, given frostbite and mentally ‘destroyed’ by interrogators who tormented him by saying they would rape his five-year-old daughter as she screamed: ‘Daddy! Daddy!’

Mr Aamer’s medical report was commissioned by his lawyers and lodged with a federal court in Washington in April last year as part of a motion calling for his release due to his ill health.

Mr Aamer has been cleared twice for release from Guantanamo but has yet to be allowed back to South London where his 40-year-old wife and four children live.

Born in Saudi Arabia, he moved to London in 1996 and worked as an Arabic translator. Granted UK residency, he married a British woman, Zin, who was pregnant when Mr Aamer was captured in Afghanistan in 2001.

The child, a boy named Faris, was born on the day Mr Aamer arrived at Guantanamo in 2002. By 2007, a classified US military report had concluded Mr Aamer was a ‘close associate’ of Osama Bin Laden and a ‘recruiter, financier, and facilitator’ for his Al Qaeda terror network.

He says he was simply in Afghanistan doing charitable work, and was sold by locals to the CIA who were offering $5,000 bounties. Mr Aamer claims he confessed to being a jihadi to end his torture at a CIA ‘black site’ on the Bagram US airbase in Afghanistan.

Previously, alleged British complicity in torture has led to payouts of £1 million each to other Guantanamo inmates such as Binyam Mohamed, who was released in 2009. 

But Mr Aamer has festered at the notorious camp longer than any of them. President Barack Obama pledged to ‘prioritise’ the case in January, but nearly six months on he is still behind bars.

The Daily Mail has long campaigned for the closure of the inhumane Guantanamo prison and has championed the release of Mr Aamer.

The Mail has described Mr Aamer’s incarceration without trial as an affront to justice and called for his release as a matter of principle in a right-thinking democracy.

In a comment article last month, we said: ‘This paper has always accepted that Aamer may be a bad man.

‘But every day that he remains in Guantanamo without having his innocence or guilt tested in a court is a grotesque affront to justice.’

man shoots down drone over his property, man arrested. watcha think of this bmews?

When i saw drones freely on sale all i could think was the wheels of common sense had come off the world then i remembered Obama is in charge of America...

I hadn’t really thought about a disabled drone flying into anything or endangering other people, so I guess a case can be made against this guy.
But heck .... first degree crime?

William H. Merideth, 47, from Kentucky was charged with first degree criminal mischief and first-degree wanton endangerment.

The owner of the drone claims he was only trying to take pictures of a friend’s house, when Merideth shot at the device, sending it crashing into a field near his yard last weekend.

‘My daughter comes in and says, ‘Dad, there’s a drone out here flying,’ ‘ he told WDRD.

‘I went and got my shotgun and I said, ‘I’m not going to do anything unless it’s directly over my property,’ ‘ Mr. Merideth said, noting that the drone briefly disappeared when his daughter waved it off.

‘Within a minute or so, here it came. It was hovering over top of my property, and I shot it out of the sky. I didn’t shoot across the road, I didn’t shoot across my neighbor’s fences, I shot directly into the air.’

Four men were about to confront him after the drone was shot out of the sky, but he says they soon changed their minds when they saw his personal firearms.

‘I had my Glock on me and they started toward me and I told them, ‘If you cross my sidewalk, there’s gonna be another shooting,’ ‘ Mr. Merideth told the station.

The police arrested the homeowner soon afterwards.

Never mind a guy was found at the bottom of their pool.
What interested me was how much better mommy looks than her daughters.

Btw .... who names a girl, Scout?  And Rumer?  Who cares?

So on the far left in the photo here is Tallulah who is 21.

On the right, the bigger girl is Scout, who is 24 years old today.  Happy B. Day Scout.

A Constitution for the New Deal

THE PRINCIPLE cause of the uproar in Washington is a conflict between the swift-moving idealism of the New Deal and the unyielding hunkerousness of the Constitution of 1788. What is needed, obviously, is a wholly new Constitution, drawn up with enough boldness and imagination to cover the whole program of the More Abundant Life, now and hereafter.
That is what I presume to offer here. The Constitution that follows is not my invention, and in more than one detail I have unhappy doubts of its wisdom. But I believe that it sets forth with reasonable accuracy the plan of government that the More Abundant Life wizards have sought to substitute for the plan of the Fathers. They have themselves argued at one time or another, by word or deed, for everything contained herein:

PREAMBLE
We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish social justice, draw the fangs of privilege, effect the redistribution of property, remove the burden of liberty from ourselves and our posterity, and insure the continuance of the New Deal, do ordain and establish this Constitution.

ARTICLE I
The Executive
All governmental power of whatever sort shall be vested in a President of the United States. He shall hold office during a series of terms of four years each, and shall take the following oath: “I do solemnly swear that I will (in so far as I deem it feasible and convenient) faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will (to the best of my recollection and in the light of experiment and second thought) carry out the pledges made by me during my campaign for election (or such of them as I may select).”

The President shall be commander-in-chief of the Army and Navy, and of the militia, Boy Scouts, C.I.O., People’s Front, and other armed forces of the nation.
The President shall have the power: To lay and collect taxes, and to expend the income of the United States in such manner as he may deem to be to their or his advantage;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States, and to provide for its repayment on such terms as he may fix;
To regulate all commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and within them; to license all persons engaged or proposing to engage in business; to regulate their affairs; to limit their profits by proclamation from time to time; and to fix wages, prices and hours of work;

To coin money, regulate the content and value thereof, and of foreign coin, and to amend or repudiate any contract requiring the payment by the United States, or by any private person, of coin of a given weight or fineness;

To repeal or amend, in his discretion, any so-called natural law, including Gresham’s Law, the law of diminishing returns, and the law of gravitation.
The President shall be assisted by a Cabinet of eight or more persons, whose duties shall be to make speeches whenever so instructed and to expend the public funds in such manner as to guarantee the President’s continuance in office.

The President may establish such executive agencies as he deems necessary, and clothe them with such powers as he sees fit. No person shall be a member to any such bureau who has had any practical experience of the matters he is appointed to deal with.

One of the members of the Cabinet shall be an Attorney General. It shall be his duty to provide legal opinions certifying to the constitutionality of all measures undertaken by the President, and to gather evidence of the senility of judges.

EDISON’S TALKING DOLLS

Came across something interesting today aside from the usual sort of thing I post.

Talking dolls from the 1880s.
Thomas Edison released a range of talking dolls that contained wax cylinders children could operate using a crank in the back. They were pulled from shelves within 6 weeks after children said that the voices terrified them.

120 years later .... those voices have been digitised.

The sound is creepy.

Edison Talking Doll Recordings, 1888-1890

Thomas Edison’s Talking Doll of 1890 set an early milestone in the history and technology of recorded sound. It was the world’s first recorded-audio product designed, manufactured, and sold for home entertainment. It proved to be a rough start, however.

The talking doll business venture was a costly failure for Edison and his investors, who ceased sales after only about one month on the market.  Historians have had few opportunities to hear talking doll recordings.

Surviving examples are rare. Prior to 2011, just two Edison doll recordings were widely available online in digital form.Recent technological advances in audio recovery methods are making more historic sounds available to hear.

During 2007-2009, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, in collaboration with the Library of Congress, developed a three-dimensional optical scanning system called IRENE-3D. The IRENE-3D system creates a digital model of the surface of a phonograph record.

With the digital model, image analysis methods are used to reproduce the audio stored on the record, saving it as a WAV-format digital audio file.

The first Edison Talking Doll record to benefit from optical scanning is a tin cylinder, cataloged as National Park Service artifact EDIS 1279.

The small metal ring had been so severely distorted from its original cylindrical shape decades ago, that the out-of-round record could not be properly played by a traditional stylus-contact based approach. In May 2011, scientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California used IRENE 3-D to create a digital model of the tin record’s modulated surface. Their software analysis revived the voice of a young woman reciting the first stanza of the nursery rhyme “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.”

It was in our morning paper also came up when I went to Yahoo page for mail.

So ... whatcha think?

There’s nothing so far that’s been found that says he isn’t loyal.

Maybe it’s the Dem’s way to show muzzies everywhere, including the never appeased terrorists, how inclusive and fair we are.
Maybe this is their secret weapon to get them to love the west and especially America. 

WASHINGTON (AP) — Top Democrats are defending their appointment of a Muslim congressman to the House Intelligence Committee after protests erupted on social media, warning the move is dangerous.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi this week appointed Rep. Andre Carson of Indiana to the panel, which oversees the government’s intelligence departments and activities. Much of the business that comes before the committee is classified.

Anti-Muslim protests erupted on Twitter and other social media with complaints that exposing American secrets to Carson could be dangerous.

Democrats widely rejected that view. Pelosi said Carson is the only member of Congress to have served in a Department of Homeland Security Fusion Center, which provides intelligence sharing and training across levels of government. Carson also serves on the House Armed Services Committee.

Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the senior Democrat on the panel, called the protests un-American. He said including Muslim Americans in public policy issues is “an essential element in preventing the kind of alienation that has made too many young European Muslims vulnerable to extremism.”

Rep. Joseph Crowley of New York, vice chairman of the Democratic Caucus, called on his colleagues to renounce the attacks.

“We will never be able to grow as a society if we allow this kind of hatred and division to go unchecked,” Crowley wrote in a letter to his colleagues.

america’s allies.  not necessarily friends … a parting shot from one of them.

During WW2, on one of his many show overseas for the troops, Bob Hope brought on stage a young and beautiful Francis Langford. Addressing the troops he said,
“I just want you fellas to see what you’re fighting for.”
Which was greeted by laughter and applause.

Well …. in case you folks haven’t seen this yet, allow me to show you a man the American taxpayer has assisted and spent fortunes on as well as American and allied lives. The former head of state of bArf-ganland, Hamid Karzais, had this parting shot for the Pakis and Uncle Sam.

I guess in the circumstances there wasn’t anyone else and so we were stuck with him.
According to him, the USA along with our allied and ‘trusted’ friend Pakistan, are much in favor of “perpetual war.”

Take a look.  I just want everyone to see who we’ve spent lives and monies on for the last ten years. Or is it longer?  (yes I’m aware we do have some self interests, but …)

Outgoing President Hamid Karzai takes a parting shot at US claiming Washington wanted war in Afghanistan

In farewell speech, Mr Karzai thanks countries for help but not America for its $100bn aid.

Outgoing Afghan President Hamid Karzai used his farewell speech to take one last swipe at the United States, capping an often testy relationship with an accusation that America has never wanted peace in Afghanistan.

Mr Karzai, the only president Afghanistan had had since the US-led invasion in 2001, said Washington had wanted war in Afghanistan “because of its own interests”. His relationship with the US has grown increasingly fragile in recent years, but the diplomatic US-Afghan relationship may be reset when President-elect Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai will be sworn in.

The US has spent more than $100bn (£61bn) on aid in Afghanistan since 2001 to train and equip the country’s security forces, to pave crumbling dirt roads, to upgrade hospitals and to build schools. But Mr Karzai thanked a slew of other countries for their help – India, Japan, China, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Germany – without mentioning the US. The speech portrayed the White House and the military leaders of neighbouring Pakistan as backing perpetual war.

“If America and Pakistan really want it, peace will come to Afghanistan,” he said. “War in Afghanistan is based on the aims of foreigners. The war in Afghanistan is to the benefit of foreigners. But Afghans on both sides are the sacrificial lambs and victims.”

More than 2,200 US personnel have died in Afghanistan?, with nearly 20,000 wounded.

The United Nations says 8,000 Afghan civilians have been killed in the conflict over the past five years. For years Mr Karzai has railed against US military strikes for the civilian casualties that some of them cause – although the UN has said insurgents are to blame for the overwhelming majority of casualties.

In his final year in office, Mr Karzai refused to sign a security agreement with the US that would set the legal framework to allow about 10,000 American military advisers and trainers to stay in the country next year. Mr Ghani has said he will sign it.

Mr Karzai’s relationship with President Barack Obama is seen as weak, though US Secretary of State John Kerry appears to have a rapport with the outgoing Afghan President.

OK so, if this bit of filth, this screaming faggot get his op., I guess Americans gets to pay for it.
Why?

The bastard betrayed the country while wearing it’s uniform.

And notice the media. Most press reports I’ve seen insist on referring to the creep as a ‘she’.

How in world can IT be a she, if no operation has taken place?  It’s still a he. But no. The media is using the name he gave himself. Chelsea.
Why so damn accommodating? 

Notice too the appearance of the aclu here. Why isn’t anyone out there shooting any of these rat bastards?  Have you ever noticed, with all the weapons out there and for so darn long, not one member of the aclu has ever been deleted. Not one!  That bothers me even more than Manning’s lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims he will self harm by self-castration. No he won’t.  He wouldn’t have the nerve it would take. And if by some chance he actually did, so what?
Let him bleed out. Cheaper then feeding him for the next 3 decades and seeing to his medical needs.

Manning sues Defense Dept. for gender treatment

Chelsea Bradley Manning asked a federal court Tuesday to order the Defense Department to provide hormone therapy and other treatment for her gender identity condition while she serves her 35-year sentence in military confinement.

A spokeswoman at the Pentagon, Army Lt. Col. Alayne Conway, said she could not comment on pending litigation, per military policy.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, says the Army private formerly known as Bradley Manning is at a high risk of self-castration and suicide unless she receives more focused treatment for gender dysphoria at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

“Such clear disregard of well-established medical protocols constitutes cruel and unusual punishment,” ACLU attorney Chase Strangio said in a statement.

The Army is providing some treatment but not enough, according to the lawsuit. She is getting psychotherapy from a mental health specialist who lacks the qualifications to treat gender dysphoria, according to the document.

And although Manning has been issued female underwear and sports bras, “she is denied permission to outwardly express her female gender through female hair length and other grooming standards,” the lawsuit says.

And Another Year Passes

It’s a Thursday this year. It was a Tuesday that year.

Where two iconic buildings once fell, one iconically named but otherwise forgettable building now rises.

You personally are considerably less free now than you were then, in so many ways. Thanks to your government. Most likely you’re poorer too, but that’s not a subject for today’s post.

Over 8,000 lives of our military have been lost fighting this thing we stopped calling The Global War On Terror years ago. The victories we achieved seem to have turned to ashes. Our borders are meaningless and we are being saturated with disease carrying illegal foreigners by our own government’s hidden plan.

And last night, that flaccid speech by our laughingstock President, laying out a half-baked lightweight plan to fight ISIS that is guaranteed to be ineffective. And all the rest of his inanity, starting with “Islamic State is not Islamic”, when in fact they enact the teachings of the Quran nearly word for word.

And the empty talking heads on the TV news keep saying how tired of war Americans are, when in truth most have forgotten, or never knew, and certainly never felt the slightest bit of impact, of the several wars that we are in.

Sorry Mr. Soldier, you can not enter your son’s school while in uniform. Someone might be offended.  We have learned nothing.

Obama’s blithering last night ought to have been a John Paul Jones moment. His words should have been bold enough to get a “damn right” from George Patton. Instead we got ... what the hell was that, anyway?  Pusillanimous? Knock-kneed? I’m running out of verbs that mean chicken shit. Fly weight; minimalist.

Tired? Yes, I am tired. Tired of lies, tired of half measures, tired of political correctness, tired of politics. I know who the enemy is, I know what the enemy is, I know where the enemy is, and I know why they feel they must be our enemy forever. So I’m tired of waiting.
